Kat Drawls: Justice's Xavier de Rosnay Talks Woman Worldwide

The complete audio of my Billboard interview from 2018

Hey Friends!

I’m back with another edition of the Kat Drawls podcast, which exhumes interview audio from my archives, giving them new life for you to enjoy.

Since we’re celebrating Justice’s recently announced tour dates, this edition features my 2018 interview with the duo’s Xavier de Rosnay.

This call was conducted in my friend Amanda’s mom’s kitchen in Virginia. I was traveling and working remotely at the time. I don’t know what I did the weekend before that makes me sound so tired, but alas, I never seem to interview Justice unless I’ve had no sleep and my voice is gone. C’est ma vie!

Amanda and I saw Daft Punk and Justice together, so this location was only fitting :) She actually told him at the end how she listened to their albums while working in Madagascar, researching lemurs, and he was like, “woah, monkeys, cool.” I cut that part out, but now you know about it anyway.

Justice also posted about our interview on Instagram right after, sharing the internal notes they created when brainstorming the show. I got tagged in the post by a few friends like “is this you?!” and yes! It was me!

Anywho, the recording is a bit rough, and Xavier has a think French accent to begin with. I did a lot of audio editing to make it sound better, though I’m no engineer, so this is the best I could do. Thank you to friends who helped in the effort, as well.

The Kat Drawls podcast is a special treat for Kat Scrawl’s paid subscribers, so this is where the free teaser ends. If you’re a paying subscriber—or about to become one—thank you endlessly for your support. Please let me know what other subscriber perks you’d appreciate! Your financial contributions help me keep this train moving, and without you, I’m just a weirdo working my ass off for free lol <3

Even if you decide not to subscribe for $5/month or $50/year (pls consider?), you can still read the full interview as it appeared and continues to appear on Billboard’s website.
